William A. Muir, aged 71 years, 7 months and 25 days an old
soldier and retired farmer, died at 11:30 o’clock this morning at his home, 361
East National Avenue of general debility after an illness of two years. The
deceased man was a member of Co B, 43rd Indiana Volunteer Infantry
and had an excellent record as a soldier. He was a member of the GAR. He was
born in Greencastle in 1843, but has lived in this vicinity for many years. The
widow, three sons, Charles and Oscar of Indianapolis and Elmer of near
Bridgeton survive and one brother of California. Funeral services will be
announced tomorrow.
